Specific Scope of Work and Deliverables

COORDINATION AND ORGANIZATION

  • Meet regularly with municipal officials, local stakeholders, and other interested organizations to seek input, feedback, and advice and update the community on programming progress, current efforts, and upcoming events.
MARKETING

  • Cultivate relationships with local/regional media outlets to provide businesses and community organizations with access to ongoing public relations.  Coordinate programming updates with the Town, stakeholders, and cultural organizations.  Support the regular updating of the Town's website to make it a "go-to" source for all local events.
FUNDING

  • Secure funding for a targeted local infrastructure project through a STEAP grant or other source in consultation with the Board of Selectmen.  Seek private funding for an "incubator bank" that could provide lease subsidies for qualified start-ups and artisans.
EVENTS

  • Plan, implement, and serve as coordinator for new business/cultural/community events similar to Community Day, Earth Day, Celebration of Young Writers or Holiday in the Depot.
ADVANCE COMMERCIAL OCCUPANCY

  • Compile and regularly update an inventory of available commercial properties in the Town's business districts with pertinent information.  Perform site analyses and organize marketing materials for commercial vacancies in each district.  Select key sites in consultation with the Planning Commission and the Washington Business Association.  Utilize the analyses and materials to proactively recruit compatible business ventures.
CREATE AN INVITING COMMUNITY

  • Coordinate efforts with municipal entities (land use commissions, highway dept.) and community organizations (WBA, Village Improvement Society, Washington Garden Club) to strategically site appropriate information signage throughout the community and initiate a beautification campaign for the five village centers and other areas as needed.
